CubeSAR
A 2U CubeSat demo that runs on its own on the desk. Reaction wheels turn it until it finds where the light is strongest; there it opens its solar panels and recharges. It takes pictures with a Pi Camera and a spectrometer, and a neural model running onboard processes them on the spot, edge computing, then sends the result to the ground station.
Una demo di CubeSat 2U che sulla scrivania lavora da sola. Le ruote di reazione la fanno girare finché trova il punto con più luce: lì apre i pannelli solari e si ricarica. Fa le foto con una Pi Camera e uno spettrometro, e un modello neurale che gira a bordo le elabora sul posto, in edge computing, poi manda il risultato alla stazione di terra.
It is the step below IceRoute: the same idea of processing onboard and sending down the result, on a desk where a mistake costs an afternoon rather than a mission.
